Seasons for hunting - see below 8 days / 7 nights
Primorye is a land of varied and rich nature, with
long littoral areas which gave this region its name, wet plains in
the west and the vast tracts of Taiga wilderness covering most of
its territory. Along with endemic and endangered species off bounds
for hunting, there is an abundance of fair game, including wild
boar, red deer, moose and antler deer, as well as brown bear and
fowl: duck, pheasant and grouse.
Itinerary:
| DAY 1 |
VLADIVOSTOK Arrival in Vladivostok, the
fascinating port city, the largest city in the Russian Far
East and cultural crossroads between Asia and Europe. Our
driver/guide will take you to the downtown hotel, sharing with
you the basic information about the city and what you can do
here. |
| DAY 2 |
ANUCHINO HUNTING GROUNDS After breakfast,
we take a 4-hour ride northeast to the Anuchino hunting
grounds. The gamekeepers and local guides will provide
essential orientation and test the guns which are made
available for hunting guests. Wilderness gorges, highland
moors, and river valleys are home to boar, deer, moose and
brown bear. There is a base camp with a kitchen and a
bathhouse, and three log cabins scattered through the
wilderness. The gamekeepers and hunting guide will choose the
location and hunting methods which will work best under the
circumstances. Meals always include venison, so make sure you
let us know about your food preferences in advance: if you
don't really like venison, special rations will need to be
taken along from Vladivostok. Overnight in a hunter's log
cabin or tent. |
| DAYs 3-6 |
Four days are usually enough for a guaranteed
large game kill. You will have a chance to try different
hunting techniques: you can lie in hiding near salt
outcroppings waiting for the deer to come near. In September,
during the mating season of wapiti deer, hunters can attract
the game by sounding horns imitating the mating call of wapiti
deer. Bear hunting usually involves waking a brown bear from
its winter lair. Yet another alternative is tracking game
through the woods, by visible tracks or be scent. You can try
at least two different hunting techniques on this trip. |
| DAY 7 |
After a parting meal of venison, we start on
the four-hour ride back to Vladivostok. It makes good sense to
visit souvenir shops on the penultimate day of the trip,
because export formalities normally take up one day. You can
let the shop handle the paperwork for you, and pick up your
selected souvenir on the next day. |
